Simon, any other suggestions for an active fish that could go in a 42 gallon? I'm planning on some clowns, a wrasse, a dwarf angel, and a midas blenny.
One, in a 42 gallon. They kill each other at night over sleeping spots. They're fairly quiet, so one will do fine in a 42 and won't bother anything I've ever met. If 2 or 3 you'd need a 100 gallon with plenty of cover.
