Can anyone tell me what this guy perished from?

I have two remaining in QT who seem to be hanging on fine with very mild versions of the above spots. I also have some firefish in there, who have not been affected at all. Everyone is eating and swimming around fine.

Thanks!

Do some searching for uronema marinum. I have no first hand experience with this disease, but from my memory, it's a protozoa parasite commonly infecting blue-green chromis damsels. Kind of nasty stuff if IRC. Formalin or freshwater dips can be used to treat the initial infestation with a course of antibiotics.

Vibrio looks similar making it difficult to diagnose without a scraping and microscope.

Yes; this forum has had many chromis dying from what appears to be uronema lately. If my age isn't showing itself; there were several people who had total die-offs from this stuff and quotes from LFS folks saying all their chromis were coming in this way. I'd search this forum for more info too.
