Chrysopterus available in SF Bay area

Hey guys,

I was down at the LFS and ran into a beautiful little (1.5 - 2") chrysopterus juvie.

There was no label on the tank and I asked what it was and how much. Figured it was a chrys but wasn't sure. Owner said she thought it was a clarkii and looked for the invoice. Invoice said "Blue Stripe" so if you have $20 burning a hole in your pocket and you want a nice looking chrysopterus go to Seascapes in Mountain View and help out a little fish.

He looked pretty good, a little washed out because of stress but he came right to the front of the tank to say hi to my 4 year old son so he's not too shy. Breathing well and no ick, brook indications etc....

$20, thats a great price. why didn't you get it?

I would get it but affraid shipping would kill it.

I have no room. If I can get someone to take the black saddleback off my hands I'll have room for them.

right now I have the 2 clarkii in my 72, 2 pink skunks in the main compartment in my 20 and 2 clarkii juvies temporarily in the small compartment of the 20. I guess he could have gone in the sump of the 72 but I am going to be using my 10g QT for my clarkii eggs that are hatching tomorrow night.

Oh, the saddleback is in my wife's 10g on her desk. The chrys could go in there but either way either he or the saddleback will need a new home in a few months....

Too many great fish, too little room.

get the blue stripe and spring $10 for a 10 gal
Bam!! you just got a blue stripe for 30, not a bad price

LOL..... You have no idea how much I'd like to do that. I simply don't have room. My next purchase has to be a real grow out system for my clarkii. If I can make enough money off of them I might be able to get a coule 60s on a rack to put breeders in but right now I have a 72 in the living room, a 20l on the hearth and a 10 larvea tank on the floor. the bedrooms are off limits for noise reasons. I am saving the one decent space for a breeder setup once I can convince my wife that it is worth the investment.

:-)

get the setup and let all the baby fish convince your wife it was worth it :)

I do have a 10g. for the larvae. I think I'll be able to grow the system to house the first fish I get through mmp.
