I've had these two clowns for a little over a year. They took a few months to pair off and for the female to stop attacking the male, but they're good now. The pair has 3 nems to choose from and the female only recently is allowing the male to share the haddoni. The male used to only be allowed in the smaller of the rbtas but they apparently got some counseling and just had there first batch of eggs. They eggs tooks 10 days to hatch but I'm not set up to raise the fry.

yeah, they're fiji. I've had them for a while but I finally got around to pulling out the slr to get some pics. looks like you just got a pair too. good luck with them

Yeah it's been a long time coming. I lost my Fiji trio about a year and a half ago to some mystery disease. I was real bummed about it and it took some time to try them again.

Counseling...that was funny. Mine have yet to lay eggs. When I got them almost a year ago the female was about 2" and the male was barely an inch. They paired up nicely and are now about 4" and 2". My female has been digging around the nem for the last few months. Maybe she is looking for a good spot to lay eggs? Don't know for sure but it would be cool.

I'm surprised you don't see more of these around. I've heard they are fragile and don't ship well. Mine are pretty hardy and hang with the tangs and eat everything.

Mine are very hardy too. my female bit off half the male's tail when I first got them. She would never let him into the haddoni and boot him outta the rbta when she felt like it. I think it took like 4-5 months before she stopped chasing him across the tank. If mine lay again I'll probably see if someone local wants the eggs for free to see if they can raise them. I wasn't sure about their incubation time so I just let them be this time. It took 10 days for the eggs to hatch. they laid about 80 eggs but only about 40 made it all 10 days.
