Chrysurus angel

It's hard to tell from the picture but the line, just when the tail is starting, has the end curve, which is the inverted "T' on the tail. You can tell better as the tail starts to turn yellow.

It looks like it is a Chrysurus but if you look at picture of Juv Blueface, Mac and Six bars they look very similar at this stage. I think once the yellow starts to show on the tail you'll be able to differently make an id. Depending on the size of the tank and the amount that's it's eating the yellow should start to show in a couple of months.

What is your experience with a Chrysurus in a reef?

I have a Goldflake that checked out a few corals but has since left them alone.

Just curious if people have had more trouble than good in a reef with a Chrysurus.

I not sure there are a lot of people keeping them to begin with let alone in reef tanks. I would think that there is a good chance that they will eats corals, that can be said for most angels specially the larger one. May not happen right away but probably will at some point and time, it's alway a crap shoot with angels.

Chuck

I remember Doug telling me he had one and it was a model citizen with his SPS.

I have already saw my Chrysurus take a few picks at different SPS. I hope he is just tasting and not liking, but if this keeps up through tomorrow, he is coming out.

Good thing is, he doesnt seem to be scared at all when my hands are in the tank.
