Chrysurus Angel

Just wanted to share some pics of my Chrysurus that I got from NYaquatic about 3 weeks ago. He just started eating consistently for me. He has been pretty docile to the other angels in the tank.

For some reason the markings near the face are off. Instead of the two dark lines marks, mine almost has a box of dark coloration on each side. Other wise the colors are the same as other Tennenti's I have seen. It might also be the picture itself.

Glad that it is eating. I got a 3" juvi this time last year and it ate pellets (formula 2 and NLS) before it even ate mysis. It took 2-3 weeks before I felt comfortable with it's feeding.

Mine has been an awesome citizen in my mixed reef. I have everything but clams and he doesn't ever nibble (yet). It leaves the other fish alone too.

How larger is it? Mine is 4-4.5" and it still has some juvi coloration left.

They are one of my favorite angels. I have had one from a juvi to it's adult coloration. I have had it now for almost 3 years now. It is the boss of my tank. He rules with a firm hand but does no damage to any of the other fish.

Nice Chrysurus. Definately a center piece. I have one that is 6-7". I thought it would not make it because it hardly ate. It took him almost 2 weeks before he ate and he only ate small flakes that are floating on the surface. He would not touch flakes that sank or touch mysis, pellets, nori and clams. After 4 months of eating flakes he began to eat pellets. Now he eats flakes and jumbo pellets.

I had one that i bought when he was about 2 in. had him in a mixed reef for just about 3 yrs, never touch anything, I only have a 100gal so traded him in. he had almost compltetly changed into his adult color. I miss him but he is in a 500gal tank now which is for the best.
