Cinder blocks?

RCS

In Memoriam
The walls in the fish room will be painted going into this weekend, so I'm looking at setting up some tanks hopefully before the new year is over. Need some bits and pieces, thought maybe someone had some or knew someone needing to get rid of the following:

-cinder blocks (8x8x16)
-2x4s
-1-2" PVC tubing
-eggcrate

Please PM or email.

I thought eggcrate was pricey for what it is.
I wanted some awhile back to cover parts of my 150 and didnt wanna pay $10 a sheet so just used some extra that came with my aquapod.
$10 wouldnt be bad if you needed alot of it but I did'nt.

None of this stuff is really expensive, I was just hoping someone had some to get rid of. I've got all sorts of stuff lying around. Remember I'll be setting up a LOT of tanks, so even at $0.97 a piece, I'm guessing I'll need close to 78 cinder blocks just to set up the first 7 tanks...I've seen PILES of these lying in people yards sometimes...why would I pay $100+ when it's all said and done when I can recycle and save some cash?

I've read this thread about 4-5 times, each time I shake my head and go on to something else...

First, at 32# lbs roughly per block, and second, someone who has already hauled 35 into his basement, used them, and then hauled them out, then, only to have them back again when I bought the 300.....

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED ANY ALTERNATE DESIGNS?

And can I come over and sit like the Howells from Gilligans Island, and watch you hump all that into your basement?

TJ's using all his block, Saw his car up on blocks in his front yard when I was over there last week. Sorry "T" the secrets out... I think Scott is correct... You need a reefer that also lives in a trailor park... That's way to much like Tennessee.

Arn't they constructing an apartment complex down the street from you... that's something to watch to. A grown man making 78 trips in the night to pickup block...

This message was for amusement only, And should in no way be read sober.

Sorry I can't help Fred... I did want to tell you that the 300 is for sale, 900 smacks for the tank, 30 or so block it sits on, 4 really heavy angle irons that would support a car, a double layer of plywood, and a layer a virgin styro to take up the slack. I'd give them to you but the guy that's comming to proly buy it this week wants the tank higher than knee high, so sounds like hes got the same thought as you...

There's actually a place out in the country a little bit out towards 47 and A that we drove by a couple weeks ago...had enough blocks in the yard to build 3-4 basements from the looks of it. I might just swing by there and ask.

Jason, you know I'd love the 300, but it's just not feasible right now, unfortunately. Price is right...hopefully it will go quickly for you.

I've used the blocks for tanks before, not too worried about it. It will be trips in increments, so not a huge display of stamina either...

Funny Jason funny :-)

On my walk with the dog I just saw some block in my neighbors backyard. Heading over there to talk to him now.
