I would like to know what you guys think would be the best species of clownfish for my 58 gallon reef

Hoping they will host in my RBTA and eventually spawn

Right now I am leaning towards the Cinnamon as indicated by the order of the poll

I think the maroons are very pretty but I am worried about the pairing issues

Tenatively thinking of ordering from Liveaquaria

I voted clarkiis as they seem to host the fastest [at least for me] and are one of the easier that will mate .

Maroons can be and usually are very territorial. Yes they are a beautiful clownfish but they can be also very destructive. Not to mention they are very rough on their anemone. If you do go with Maroons based off the poll just keep in mind that you must have a good sized BTA for them.

Live aquaria has them in there divers den section sometimes. I paired mine up the hard way.

yeah, i think maroons as well, i had a pair of tomatoes once and they were just as aggressive as the maroons, but i think that the maroons were ay prettier with a way better personality. Sometimes you can find pairs in lfs, but they are very rare, its best to pair them up when little, with one about twice as small as the other. but if you can find a pair, go with that.

Thanks for the responses

Where can a mated pair of maroons be purchased

Will
I don't think you can easily get a mated pair of Maroons. However, I always got success with get a very small and largest maroon clowns I can get and put them together. I did this twice and got a pair each time without mortality.
Reading online at RC, one would think that pairing Maroons is like playing Russian Roulette. This was not the same as my experience. Maybe I was lucky.

maroons ;)

I paired mine up the 'hard way' too. it wasent to bad. the hardest part was finding a tiny little one to pair with my female.

after they were in the same tank together it took about 8 months before they spawned :)
