Cinnamon vs. Tomato Clowns

I have a small(maybe 1") Cinnamon clown that I added to my frag tank just two days ago with a slightly larger specimen of the same species. The larger died but that is where my question comes in. I have a 2" tomato clown( amp. frenatus) that is in my display tank. Could these two be made into a breeding pair? Even so, how hard are cinnamon larvae to keep alive? I am going to start two broodstock tanks and have oscellaris in one and cinnamons in the other.

I have only raised occys, but Wilkerson's book would be of use to you. Without it, mine wouldn't have made it at all.

Cinnamon/tomato clowns can mate and produce fertile offspring. Several breeders have raised this cross before. The babies are fairly easy to raise. I have actually never raised "pure" cinnamons before, but tomatoes are one of the easier larvae to raise. HTH

so the only pure cinnamon (melanopus) are wild? So you can mix the two species Amphiprion melanopus and Amphiprion frenatus? I am definitely going to try getting pure tank raised Cinnamon to breed. Thanks

There are cinnamons / A. melanopus available as tank-bred specimens; I think most hatcheries produce this fish (I just haven't raised any yet ).
