Hi I have a BTA in a hospital tank and im using ciprofloxacin meds. I am having dissolving issues. I grind the tablet up between my thumb and finger in front of the powerhead but once it has blew round the tank i get a pile of undissolved build up in the corner of the tank, am I doing this right?

You can buy a pill crusher from your local pharmacy. It'll crush the pill into a fine powder.

That said, now I use the same process you described and it's fine. Assuming the pile you see is small in comparison to the pill itself, we can deduce that most of the medication was dissolved.

I throw mine in a deli cup with some water for a few minutes and then use a milk frother to blend it. Works really well.

As long as it dissolved a few hours later, it should be fine. Mine clown up the water a bit but everything would clear up in an hour or so (mean completely dissolved IMO)

Hi it doesnt always completley dissolve, its almost like a waxy film coating around the tablet i think that doesnt dissolve.

Some brands seem to have that. The one marketed for fish dissolved a lot easier for me than the pills meant for humans. I assume different companies just use different binding agents
