do they have good quality fish? i was thinking of ordering from dr foster's fish suplier because of the warranty what kind of experiences have you had with marine depot? when would i be able to pick it up?
freewilly2 - This would be my first experience with Marine Depot Live. They do have a 5 day stay-alive guarantee. I chose Marine Depot Live because my previous attempt at a Live Aquaria group order was unsuccessful and because they have the blue dot puffer I want 
. Someone suggested Marine Depot Live instead. Generally speaking, I think Marine Depot Live has lower prices. However, Live Aquaria basically charges flat shipping, regardless of the order size; whereas Marine Depot tacks on extra box charges as the order size gets bigger. To make a long story short, if people here wanted to switch to Live Aquaria, I would be willing to compromise. I would prefer the order to ship this Saturday if everyone agrees. Alternatively, I can ship it on a Friday and people may pick up after 4:00 pm.

I sent the following email to Marine Depot Live:
Hi, I am a potential first time customer organizing a CMAS (Chicago Marine Aquarium Society) group order. I have some questions:
1. Do you currently have any free shipping promotions?
2. How big is your standard box? Do you determine when to add an additional box merely by weight, or when the regular size box is full? (In other words, do you increase box size until you get to your weight limit, or do you just add new boxes?)
3. Would you extend us a CMAS discount?

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry. At this time, we do not have any shipping promos for live goods, we only have them for dry goods on www.marinedepot.com . We carry 3 regular size boxes the largest of which is 30 x 24 x 20. We would fill up the largest box possible then add another box. Unfortunately, we do not provide group buy discounts on live goods only dry goods.

Saturday delivery will cost $51 for one box, and $12 for each additional box.
As you can see from the email, they are not willing to extend us any kind of discount. However, they do have a "Buddy Program" promotion.
