CL Pump recommendations - energy savings

Hookup

I'm currently running two Gold Series Hammerhead Reeflow pumps for my CL system. All things considered these are 380w pumps x2 x 24hrs a day... and basically chewing my hydro bill to the point that I think i'm under surveillance for a grow-op.. ;)

I'm looking for a pump that has similar flow 5000gph and higher, and has a much better power consumption.

Price is always a factor, but I've heard rumors of some super-pumps in the $2000-$3000 range and that's not out of my budget...

Would definitely go 3phase and use a VFD to get an over-all lower average consumption using my GHL as a controller/head unit.

Please list any recommendations as I know very little about external pumps other than Reeflow pumps!

I don't think there are lower wattage pumps for the money
2 closed loops!

wow, for a 180.I would have done an 80 watt Eheim 1262 and a few mp40s or a few Tunzes, 30-40watts each max. total 200 watts.

But what do I know?

beautiful tank and beautiful family. i understand now. could you reduce flow and use, say, 2 darts-135w each? and use something like these:

i have to say though, as a safety consultant, all those holes in the bottom of a tank made me cringe!! :twitch: could never live with it. would use Tunzes anyway!!!!!!;)

love to that wonderful family.
