Hi,
My first clam which I got few months ago now broke off the rock it was attached to. Tried putting it on a flat rock for 2-3 weeks but it has not attached yet. I noticed it was still attached toa small piece of rock that broke off with it. do you think it's a good ides to epoxy that rock on another one or just keep itlike it is and maybe move it in the rockwork or keep it in the sand?
It is opening up as usual and reacting to shadows over it...

i wouldn't use epoxy on a clam, he may want or need to move again. has anything changed?? what type of clam??

can you just place him back in the rockwork or does he keep moving??

I think my little squamosa is drunk half the time he is up side down and back words you name it hes done it but still alive. just think thats how he is moving with the light and current all clams have different needs so what one needs might be different from another and they can be the same type.

It's a maxima, I've got two other ones in the same lighting and flow condition and their not moving and open very well and react fine to shadows. This one does not fully open since the day I got it but has good mantle extension. I was told some clams just don't open that much...
I don't think it is moving or jumping as if it was to do that it would have separated from the tiny rock to which it is still attached. it's just that that small part broke off the rock it was attached to.
