Clam Dying?

I have a 2.5" Maxima clam. When I went to bed last night he looked healthy and happy. I got up at midnight to get somthing to drink and glanced into the aquarium. To my dismay there were four cerith snails on the opening of the clam. The clam was completely closed up. I removed the snails and tossed them into the refugium. The clam has opened up this morning but his mantle is retracted into his shell. Is there anythig that I can do or is it already gone?

Not sure if the damage is done by the cerith, if the mantle is retracted for more than one day then maybe you are in trouble. water change could be a starter.
