was wondering if when you guys feed your clams in a bowl, do you put a small pump in there to circulate water around or just leave them to do the circulating?
Hi Ray-
I don't bowl feed-too many clams, too little time. I do target feed with the circulation off. I have had success w/this method.
Have you tried the 'cut soda bottle' method. This way you can keep the clams in the tank as long as you have enough room to get the bottle around them. Adam
hey adam,
i don't have room for the bottlr method. i usually every other day take them out and put them in a small basin with some phyto in it. in about an hour the water is almost clear. then i put them back in the tank and put the remainder of the water from the basin back in tank. seems to work fairly well. what do you think?
It's definately a good method just labor intensive. A lot of guys are doing it that way with success. As long as you can keep the water temp stable in the bowl it shouldn't be a problem. Adam
when i bowl fed my small clams i foated a piece of tupperware in the tank so the temp stayed the same and th clams still got the same light. i clipped one sie to the glass so it would not sink and would stay in place. this worked great until i got tired of bowl feeding them altogether!!
