Clam Handling

...so I found a small white snail on the underside of one of my 2 inch Maximas. Unfortunately I dropped the pin head sized snail in the white sand of the tank, regardless the clams are obviously going to need regular inspection for a while.

What is the best way to keep them from becoming attached to the rock they rest? Should they be submerged at all times when removing from the tank?

place a small rock under the clam for it to attach to. then you can move it when ever you want. its fine to expose clams to air for a short time, just when you place the clam back in the tank , rock the clam back and forth to remove any air.
