Clam ID.

Can anyone ID this clam for me. I purchased it at East Coast Aquatics, but they only had clams written on the glass.

And is this good placement for it? (although I believe it is attached so I may not have a choice in the matter)

It's a t. crocea

They're one of the more light-demanding clams. They generally don't very big, and don't seem to grow very quickly. If it's attached and keeps good coloration, I think it should be okay where it is. What lighting is over the tank?

Looks like a crocea to me. Nice at that. Mine is high in the tank as they like a lot of light. MH is the best.

It is under 250W Metal Halide lights right in the middle of the tank in the third picture. Thanks. I didnt realize there was a forum for people with clams. I will have to poke around there. Thanks.
