Clam ideas for a 65gallon tank.

I'm just about done with my 65gallon tank and would like to get some clams in it. I don't really know much about them yet, but I'm looking for ones that have nice coloration and would do well with my tank equipment.

Tank: 65gallon barebottom tank, 2x 250watt 10000k DE halides, Mag9.5 return pump, 2x seio 1100's, 4x maxi-jet 1200's. I don't have a calcium/alk/dkh test kit yet, but my PH is stable at 8.0-8.2, ammonia 0, nitrate 10-20ppm, nitrite 0.

it sounds like this is a new set up?if so then i would wait 9months to a year befor adding a clam.other then that the setup looks good for any clam that you like

whats the reasoning behind waiting? i understand with alot of tanks with sand the chemistry takes awhile to balance out after the nitrogen cycle but with a barebottom tank i've heard alot of people say you don't need to wait once your done with getting rid of phosphates from your rocks.

Thanks for your reply, any type of clam you would recomend, this tank wont be up forever so I'd like to kind of collect nice pieces for their future home which will be larger and hopefully better.

it doesn't mater if you have sand or BB,in a new tank(not matured) there will be may fluctuations and cycles beyond just the nitrogen cycle.there is also the issue of biodiversity within the infaunia, you may be able to do it and have success but im recommending that you dont

I'll probably wait for awhile to put anything else in the tank, I was just curious. I have to wait to have money in the bank again.
