clam in a 5.5gallon nano?

hello

i just settup my nano yes it a 5.5 gallons tank with a AC300 mod fuge, lite by 72 watts PC's, it not done cyclying yet so this is only a ?? if i can do it or not.

what do you think ?

10000k pc and a derasa might work. it is questionable. one of the problems with keeping a clam in that small of a tank with that lighting is that if it does live and grow well it will get to big for the tank. good luck

You'll be amazed at how quick they deplete Ca/Alk in small tanks. Keep in mind that they don't just add new material to the edge of the shell, but the whole inner surface, too...

And yes, anything but a crocea will outgrow that tank.

I don't think that is a good idea for a 5.5. Clams need bigger tanks than that to do well.
