Clam mantel question!!

I just got a new 6" Crocea clam, I had a small Domino damsel in the tank without any problems for 3 years, until I got the new clam.
The damsel was picking at its mantel and now it looks frayed and the clam wont fully expand or open.
Is there anything I can do to help the clam along? I am mostly worried about infection and dont want to lose it.

get rid of the damsel and give the clam some peace and quiet and it should heal on its own

Use a fluted florer vase with food, turned sidways and trap the damsel, he will eventually stress the clam and kill him.

The damsel is gone, I was just worried since the edges of part of the clams mantel are pretty beat up. Thankfully I noticed this inthe beginning, Thanks for the replys.

Now after having the damsel moved for a few hours, the clam doesnt look good. If you look thru the opening or mouth of the clam, I can see thru it to the bottom of my tank and the clam is receded totally in.
Is this from stress, or is it dying?

I think it's from stress, at this point just don't touch it or move it to stress it anymore.
