Thinking of setting up clam only tank. Do you have to cycle like a normal tank? Or can I just set up with lights temp, ect? Do you you need to skim these tanks?Do you need live rock for filtration? Don't the clams act as filters ?
Thank's
Hey. With any tank, you need to let it cycle. Live rock would be a wise addition, as many clams like to attach to it. Clams can filter the water to a very small extent, but only particles of a small micron size that can be utilized as a food source.
