Clam project need your input!

Jim, I saw one in Phoenix a few week ago. The guy said that he had it made. Look really awsome.

I have a acrylic company here in SD, I am going to see what it would cost to make one.

Toptank,
Yes I was wondering either glass of acrylic? I was also wondering how easy (or hard) it was to get to the clams once they are in the tank. Also how does the 45 degree section get it's light?
Jim
P.S. Barry your holding tank is GREAT looking!

Jim, the tank I was referring to was about 24" wide and open top with hanging lights. He just reached around the angle and moved his clams. He did have some strong lights to penitrate that angle, but most of his clams were place toward the back and looking through the angle gave a nice look to his clams. Not as good as from the top but better than looking through streight side.

Thanks for the kind remarks on my holding tank.

Jim,

Get one of those Petco hex tank. The large display tank that's short like a pond, but have glass on the side for viewing. Put that by your door's entrance to act as an indoor fish/clam pond.

Gallery of Pets in Austin have a tank like that. The Petco on Brodie lane in Austin have several tanks like that that they use for turtle and Koi.

Jim,
I don't have any pics I will see if I can get one from the tank maker. They are made locally.

We do have another tank that works great we use to house the clams wesell its a very shallow tank that is plumbed into our 300 Gallon Acro Tank. We turn the pumps off to show people and the light stand is hinged so it can be pushed back for better viewing.

I just saw a pic posted that shows it. It's not a great pic but gives you an idea.

It is in the 12th picture down the shorter tank of the two. (Don't mind my crappy cabinetry on the 300 gallon we are building a new surround. We just moved a month ago.)

I will see if I can get a pic of the angled tank to post for you.

Hope this helps in your qwest....:D
