Clam - Time for foot to attach to bottom/rock?

if i place a clam on the bottom of my tank (no sand), how long will the clam take to completely attach its foot to it?

if it likes it's location, the deposit of byssal threads will begin almost immediately; it could be very well attached within an hour or so, depending on species.

You can assist it in standing upright by placing it in an old clam shell.
