Clam w/ Seahorse?

Can I keep a small 3" clam w/ my seahorse?
I have had the seahorse for about 8 months and would like to add a clam to my mixed reef.
Any reason not to add a clam?

They don't mix well. Seahorses will irritate the mantle, mantle closes, causes injusry in seahorses, secondary bacterial infection occurs, well, you get the rest. They just don't mix well together IMO.

also, clams need very high light, and SHs need low flow, two things whoch mix badly.

Thanks, I will keep this in mind. I might have to hold of on a clam for a while.

so far, so good in my tank. medium water flow and a near 6 inch squammie. the seashorse has had her tail inside the clams shell but it gives a squirt and sends the seahorse to the top of the tank. she doesn't go near it very often.
