Clams and Temperature.

My deresa which I have had for about 4 years is not doing well. The mantle started receeding. I did a 25% water change in my aquarium just in case it is something in the water. The only other thing that changed is that we are hitting the summer months in AZ and my chiller broke. Would temperature have anything to do with its illness? The temperature in the aquarium is about 82 degrees.

I don't know exactly how hot 82F is but from memory its not too bad. My tank gets up to 30C every now and them and the clams are the last animals to show any signs of distress (in fact they have never shown any ill-effects from heat).
It may be a problem but I would be looking at all other possibilities first.

my tan stas between 78 and 81 degrees F. and my clms dont seem to mind it. i do not hav a derasa in there (yet) but i have maximas croceas and squamosas but they all do well withthe minor temp fluxuation
