Yes and no. Doubtful the coral would pull them in and eat them, but over time if the clam gets stung enough it could irritate the clam to the point where it is an easy target for other predators. If you still try it, you will most likely notice that any area the torch touches will start to turn light in color and sometimes lose it's coloration pattern all together.
