I have two clams for sale. Great clams, but my tang turned carnivore and I want them to have a proper home. They are both great and in perfect health. I have had them for about 9 months and can see good shell growth on both. I am looking for $45 for the crocea and $40 for the derasa. Sizes are Crocea is 3 inches. Derasa 2 3/4 inches. I measured their shells at night, so when they extend they are significantly larger. Here are some pics..

I'm interested in the Derasa, but not at this price. Liveaquaria has the 2-1/2 inch for $32.99 and I thought private trades would have been even cheaper.

Also, your Derasa doesn't look so good to me in the picture (the siphons & mantle looked weird). Could you please post more pics?

At last, can I ask how far away are you from Madison area? I'm trying to avoid spending $20 on gas to pick up a clam...

Thanks!

Hey,
Thanks for the interest. I bought the derasa from live aquaria for that price over a year ago and when they say 2 1/2 it means when the clam is extended and that is the largest it comes. I was just measuring the shell. Mine has doubled in size in the last year, so I am relatively sure it is quite bigger than the live aquaria one. I would go to $33 to match it though. As for my derasa looking heathy. The syphon looks like that because it is sitting on the sand, sideways. That picture was taken 3 months ago, and the clam looks very healthy today still. I will get more pics of him though. He has never really extended his mantle like the crocea, I am not sure if that is normal in derasas or not, but like I said he has very good shell growth so he must be healthy. Lastly, I live in Oshkosh, which I think is about an hour to 1 1/2. Hope this helps. PM with e-mail for better pics.
Thanks Bill
