Clams I've had for years not opening now

I have 2 crocea, 2 maxima and I dersea clams in my 100g reef. The last few days I have noticed that my maxima's and crocea's have not been extending their mantle during the day. My water parameters have not changed in years and they are as follows:
amm: 0, Nitrite: 0, Nitrate: 0, Phosphate: undetectable, Calcium: 420, DKH: 7.5, PH: 8.1. Now my lights are about 6 months old, MH's of course, should I be concerned about the PAR being to low now because of their age? I have noticed that the clams are out just before the MH's come on, not all the way, but 1/3 of the way. After about an hour of the lights being on they close up. The thing that really strikes me as odd is that my dersea is unaffected in all of this. Maybe parasites of some sort? I have checked day and night for this but have found nothing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No, it doesn't appear to be. They are just not opening during the day, and very little at night too.

Itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s got to be something in the water, parasites or maybe the lighting because it affects all of them except one. Have you tried a large water change to see if that improves things?

Check around the base of the clams for parasites.

Follow up on the lighting last.

What about nipping? Any angels or blennies? I've heard of angels being model citizens for years and then suddenly becoming a nipper.

I have no angles at all, but I do have a bicolor blenny that has been in there since the beginning. I've never seen him nip at any of the clams. As far as doing a massive water change, I don't feel that this will do anything. I do a 15% weekly water change and this has been my regiment now for a year and a half. I don't see any type of parasites at all on the clams, the only thing I can think of is the lighting. However, all my SPS seem to be doing just fine, and the bulbs are just now 6 months old. Like I said in my first post though, all the clams seem to show 1/3 of their mantles before the MH's come on, then they all seem to retreat to almost close within an hour or two. Very strange to me, I wish I could figure this out.

Dude-

I just searched out your thread!!! Its your blenny that is keeping your clams from opening.. I am going thru the same exact thing you are!! The blenny must think its seaweed or algae (the mantle) and I have caught my blenny shooting down from the top of the tank and nipping at the mantle... Its quite depressing to see.. I love the blenny and the clam... ARggg what to do!!!

Good luck and let me know if you have came up with a solution!! I would love to know what you did or do?

Spankey:(
