What was the size of your tank (dimensions)? don't know dimensions but it's an 80g bow

What fixture did you use? the current nova 8x54w

Did it have individual reflectors? no

What were the other inhabitants of the tank (coral or otherwise)?
clams, xenia, mushrooms, rics, sps, cabbage coral, candy canes

Have you since changed your lighting to something "better"? no

Do you have pictures? not at the moment

I love my T5's. used to have 4 vho's and these are soooo much brighter. My aquarium will be 2 years old in oct, got this fixture at the beginning of May.

Well I finally got around to taking a photo of my Derasa clam this morning. Here is a photo I took of it when I first got it about a year ago when it was about 3":

He has been sitting on my 4" DSB under T5 lighting for the entire time.

I have a clam in my tank. Its a crocea, but not the prettiest, my first at that.

The tank is a shallow 33g 48x12x12". With 4x54w worth of T5's, i have individual reflectors. The corals i keep are mostly zoo's, rics, some lps and a few sps frags. All do well and i have had good growth with the clam.

Heres a pic:

Amazing tank

Below is a picture of my 36 by 16 by [11.5 inches of water to the sand] - it is under 2 150 DE 14k Phoenix but will soon be installing a 24 inch ATI powermodule with 4 24 watt T-5s - I am hoping it is not too much light - the second picture is a trek of my derasas made last night across rocks to a new place - it has been on the move lately - I think it actually lost its foot a few days ago and has been repositioning ever since

Acropora frags/shrooms/gsp/hammer/zoas

Nope

*It's still too early to tell. It's only been about two month since I've have my T-5's and 2" Ultra gold maxima clam, but the clam has put on about a 1/8 inch of new shell. The Acros has grow many shoots and everything else looks good. The color doesn't really pop, but then I probably have to upgrade to the better bulbs within a year.

I also keep the clam on the top fourth of the tank. About 4 inches under water and about 5 inches from the light.

jhentr please post pic's of your crocea i'd like to see how it progress over time?

my primary interest is in long term color sustainability of crocea under ho t5's - interested in maximas also. the others i already know do very well with them but thanks for posting, always nice to see healthy clams.

How often do you guys change your T5's bulb? and what color combinations do you guys use?> ie white, blue, white, blue ...etc.

My crocea clam in my 20g. Lighting: Aquatinics 24'' TX5. 5X24W :One midday, two blueplus, one aquablue and one pure actinic (I think but not sure). I was told the bulbs should be replaced around 14-16 months, maybe 18 months for lower temps, like 6500K.

I got the clam a year ago, and it still looks healthy. I really love T5, good lighting, and since my room is usually pretty warm, heat is not really an issue, and during very hot days, a little fan lowers my temp very easily.
