Clams vs crabs vs Aquapod

A friend brought me a present when i wasn't home today, it was a plate coral as well as a clam (not sure what type, it's about 3" and flourescent blue inside). My questions are: 1) Will this clam survive in an Aquapod w/ stock lighting? 2) I've heard crabs will attack a clam, I've got a few blue legged hermits, scarlet reef hermits and one emerald crab. Am I safe?

Thx,

Aaron

I don't know what type of light but a clam will need MH to survive and grow. How much Wats the stock light has on an aquapod?

I assume you have a 24g Aquapod. That's really not enough light for the clam. You may wanna try put the clam closer to the surface on the live rock.

If the clam < 3" then you can bowl feed the clam, but eventually you'll need to place him under more intense lighting (i.e., MH). And I believe the clam should be OK with the crabs, as I have a clam with several scarlet reef hermits and the hermits have not bothered the clam.
