So who is poaching?
Unless this is a legal export from Japan or somewhere.
Anyway, beautiful fish!

What makes Japan legal?
They do not collect Clarions there, do they.

If this is an illegal specimen, moving it through japan does not really make it legal.

In any case, personally I'd think this is a legal specimen from one of the permitted batches that arrived to USA and exported worldwide.

It's funny for me that whenever there is a Clarion thread the poaching subject is brought up instantly , few secs after the thread is on the air.

There were 100's of clarions collected legally , one can go back for sale , no need to look for the negative all the time.

I agree 100%. Almost every Clarion thread results in bashing and negative comments.
And people wonder why we never see some of the most amazing fish and displays............

Sorry, just force of habit I guess. And some people mistook my second sentence, the Japanese often buy high dollar fish. If it was legal at the time, and someone could no longer house it, I am almost sure it would be 100% legal..
Sorry for any confusion!
And its still a beautiful fish.
And I still cannot afford one.. <Sigh>
