clarki clown in bad shape

Hey guys,
for several weeks now my female clarki (i think) was hovering around the bottom of the tank what I originally thought was to protect a clutch but the last week she was laying on her side and eventurally the other fish began to nip her apart. I put her in quarantine tank and it seems like her right eye is exceptionally large now almost bulbous and her mouth doesn't seem straight so she might not be able to eat. Any suggestions?

Clarki clowns are prone to getting pop eye. As long as it is only one eye it is usually not going to be a great drama and it is normally a result of physical damage. This would seem to fit with your situation. I have a breeding pair and the male has had one enlarged eye for a few months. He seems happy enough and is successfully breeding every couple of weeks.

The other symptoms seem more severe. Is she still on her side in the quarantine tank? You need to get here to start eating and live food will probably be best for that. If she has any signs of infection you will probably need to treat that too. You may want to treat anyway to prevent infection but that is your call. A mouth that isn't straight may not stop her from eating.

Good luck!

shes not laying on her side now but she just doesn't move around alot. She is upright in the tank now that she is in this little 10 gallon by herself. What kind of treatments are there for the pop eye?
