Clarkii and Hosting Question

As far as clownfish sticking close to the host does the clarkii "travel" around the tank more than the other large clownfish? I read that somewhere and want to know if that was true or not.

I just want a clownfish that aggressively cuddles it's anemone lol.

Depends on the clarkii. I had some that would never leave their anemone for long. But I had those in a huge BTA (over 30cm).

oh hmm, my anemone is about 5-6 inches across (not BTA) so I plan to get the smallest clarkii or maroon I can find so they can grow together.

I guess I am mostly curious in regards to behavior between maroon and clarkii with the roaming. The reason is that I can only "legally" have Hawaiian anemones and the species I have is a natural host in the wild to only those two clownfish.

It doesn't matter how small you buy them - they will grow, and rather fast.
When I got mine they were below 5 cm (2''), but within a year they were fully grown.
And trust me, a full size clarkii (or Premnas) is a big fish! And its fighting power and meanness can easily rival that of a 4 times larger so called "aggressive" fish.

As for hosting anemones - clarkii clowns are the least picky and (with the exception of Cerianthus) take pretty much every anemone you give them.
Premnas on the other hand are very picky and may only take BTAs.

I would go with the smallest clarkii you can get. As an added benefit, the tiny ones are really cute.

Ok thanks, seems like the best option I think. I believe I can get tank bred ones here on the island without too much trouble.
