Clarkii Digging

I have one Clarkii for about 5 years now. It and a Coral Beauty Angel are the only fish in this 100 gallon tank and have been the only two in there for years. Suddenly the clownfish had decided that it likes to dig holes in the sand on one side of the tank. This fish has just started the behavior recently and I was wondering what started this or what it's doing it for ?? .... Any thoughts ??

Happens with darn near all clowns. My Clarkii pair started doing that after 10 years (( had already been spawning for about 6 years )), it got so bad that I ended up selling them --- their digging was causing my S. Haddoni to move.

I've had my clarkii for 5 mnths and he's always digging. I've been told he's nesting, which seems weird because he's not paired. I've given up on having a level sandbed, as he makes huge hills and moves his fake coral/bed all over the tank. Entertaining, but there's sand everywhere. I had to give up my love for fungias for my Chuck boy. I love him too much to give him away.

Maybe its their way of entertaining themselves? My Chuck boy will flip sand with his back fin if the goby comes near his spot. Does he dig in the same place?
