I recently got a Clarkii and immediately after introducing him to my tank he started hosting in my RBTA. I was happy to see this right away but after an hour or so he actually became (what seemed like) stuck in the anemone. He would shake occasionally but was pretty wrapped up in it. I reached in and had to physically pull him out of it to make sure he wasn't getting hurt.
Now I'm not sure if this is something normal but it certainly didn't look right. The tentacles on the RBTA were extremely sticky when I removed him and I'm worried that it will happen again.
The only thing I can think of was that RBTA may not recognize the Clown as a possible friendly and basically attacked him. I read somewhere that a hosting Clown must build up mucus for the RBTA to identify as friendly but I'm still not sure.
Any thoughts?
