I think I am going to try a keys critters group-buy (keyscritters.com). Everyone needs a clean-up crew.

Standard group-buy - everyone splits shipping and box charges by %. I will take delivery. Keyscritters ships their snails/crabs dry, so I will do a rinse and float them in my tank to await pick-up. I believe that they will package everyone's order individually as well.

They only ship monday, so tuesday is the pick-up day. I will take delivery at work and take the rest of the day off. I will take payment by cash or paypal. Please add the % fee to the paypal amount. People I know personally can pay when they pick-up. All others will need to pay in advance.

Please post your interest in the thread only. I will put a spread sheet together to track the $/qty. The more we buy, the more we save so the price on the spread sheet will change as people are added to the group buy.

I am located in Palo Alto and would like people to pick-up tuesday of the week I accept delivery. (5/9 or 5/16, later pending interest) If you can't make it, you need to let me know so we can work something out. I also encourage others to pick-up orders for friends and locals to save on gas, etc.

This group-buy is open to all clubs and anyone else that wants to join. Please post what you want or any questions you might have and tell your friends
 
Can you ask them what kind of Turbo snail they carry? I can't pick up the order on Tuesday.
Anyone in SJ needs some snails??

Thanks for asking. But cancel the brittle or serpent. I think the snails and hermits plus the emerald crap should be enough for now.

For those that can not make the pick-up date on tuesday, I will either float them until you get there, or put them all in a 5 gal tank with water until pick-up. Your choice. First come, first serve on the ones in the 5 gal.

This is an email from keys critters

For club group buys, we use the next higher price break and wave packing
charges. We ask that the order be larger than $500.
We cannot bag individual orders of bulk inverts in quantities less than 50. We will write the contents and amount on
the bags, we can not write individual names.
For example:
1000 astrea 200, 200, 200, 100, 100, 100, 50, 50
You can order any quantity you want.
We have standing orders for the shrimp we collect, and already have all we
collect sold.
We sell Astraea (Lithopoma) tecta.

Looks like I will need to open up some bags to mess with the qtys for small orders, but that is OK with me.

I am also looking at another vendor with more selection, but keys prices are hard to beat. If anyone has a suggestion, PM me.
 
What time will you be available Tuesday? I drive through the area around 3:30 or so. If you are home at that time, I'd like:

I would like to add 20 turbos please.
Good work on the spread sheet. Be careful you might be in charge of all the group buys if you keep it up.

Jedi: It is all about when it arrives. I would assume it would be here before noon, so you should be OK. I added you to the list and changed your order patio. Feel free to change your orders until we get more people and closer to the date.

P.S. I was at Aquarium Concepts a few days ago and the store was full of new display tanks. I asked what they where for and they said they where openning a new store in Dublin. Should be nice for you.
 
Neat! I always thought it would be a good idea to open one in this area.

I'll keep an eye on this thread - it's all dependent on when we move and I can get the new tank set up. :)

Should we pay now or should we wait till the price drops due to total qty change? And shipping will be free once we hit the $500.

Hmm, the only one I know of is the one next to Petsmart, but I thought that was still open?
