So after a week of stable nitrogen (no NH3, NO2 and single digits NO3) I have decided to get some clean-up crew in. I have got couple of hermit crabs, few turbos, one babylonia and sand sifting starfish. Not much to look in, but hopefully the guys are going to enjoy the algae which is kicking in.
Refugium is seeded with few kinds of macroalgae and it seems to be doing great. Today I had been barely able to measure any nitrates. It almost getting me worried.
I am probably going to have to deal with few aiptasia on couple of rocks. Rather than experimenting I am going to wait for the Aiptasia-X to arrive in week or so.
Probably the only thing I am really battling with is high calcium (515 ppm, though it is coming down slowly) and dropping alkalinity and magnesium. So I am going to maintain alk and mg by very easy half-balling until the calcium gets towards 400. I guess it is not ideal, but water changes stopped to work for alk.
