Clean Up Crew

Hello Guys,

The time has come to get my CUC for my 94L marine tank, I was thinking of getting:

2x Turbo Snails
1x Peppermint Shrimp

Would that be sufficient for my tank or is there other CUC members you would recommend?

Also.... What is everyone's views on Hermit Craps as I hear they can eat snails and generally be a pain

If you have a sand bed I would get two nassarius snails, in addition to the two turbos, I would add a mix of 6-8 of the following:
Asterea Snails, Trocus, Cerith, Nerite Snails
I like to keep a few Hermit Crabs, others do not. If you choose to do so 2-3 herrmits would be good.
If your tank has just been set-up, you may not need quite as large of a clean-up crew as I listed until your bio-load increases in the tank.

I have a 29g (about 110L, but maybe 90 in the display itself) and my cleanup crew is:

3 Nassarius snails
2 Turbos
3 Astraea
1 Margarita
2 Peppermint shrimp

So far they're doing a great job and the snails made short work of a diatom bloom. The tank has been set up for about 3 weeks and the snails were added gradually between days 3-11, with the shrimp just coming earlier this week (to clean up the extra food from the two fish).
