clean up crew

What would be a good clean up crew for a 38 gallon reef tank? I would like a starfish incorporated into that as well

You can have a serpent starfish or two, but deciding on a complete CUC really depends on the bioload in your system. You don't want to throw a million animals in until there is competition for food, you kinda want to add a few things, see how well they do, and then add more.

However, just make note that the only stars you'll be able to keep are the serpents.

Thanks for the help yeah I was looking at the serpents so I could even have 2 in there?

2 should be fine. I wouldn't put more though, they get big, but they mostly stay hidden in rock work so they don't take up much space.
