Cleaner gobies and hawkfish, bad idea?

Has anyone had success mixing the cleaner gobies and hawkfish, in this case a scarlet hawk. I've seen it in a tank where 4 cleaners and a scarlet hawk seemed to live happily enough but as they wouldn't naturally come into contact with each other, didn't know if this was just good luck?

Thanks

There is alot of fish we keep in our tanks that wouldn't naturally come in contact with each other so I would say go for it

I have a flame hawk and a pair of neon gobies. The FH always tried to ambush the NGs until they went in the overflow. The NGs were always hiding due to the FH. I now keep the NG pair in my sump. Thus, I don't recommend this combination.

Thanks that interesting. I don't think i will try this as the hawk has been in there for years and it would probably just be too tempting. I do know someone who has that combo and it works for him but his fish are so fat they wouldn't worry about hunting anything.

I'm only considering the move because they are in my clown breeding tank and they have really started to bother the clowns. May have to set up another little tank for them.

I was wondering that myself.I was thinking about mixing a diamond goby with a flame hawk.

We have had a diamond goby and flame hawk together in a 150G tank for 5 months and I haven't noticed any aggression. Both are great fish with cool personalities IMO.
