cleaner shrimp and pods

I just added a culture of pods and other stuff hoping they will reproduce and establish so I can eventually add a mandarin fish. but I have a question, if I add cleaner shrimp to the tank, will they eat the pods?

And there you have it.

For the record, I have no idea if cleaner shrimp will significantly reduce your pod population. Maybe not if they're well fed.

Perhaps I should add more, but the confusion was fun.

Shrimp are opportunistic, and those quick claws can pull pods off rocks so fast that it will make your head spin. Shore shrimp eat off the rocks about as efficiently as cleanershrimp, they don't seem to be as fast to me. I have not seen one pod since I added 25 shore shrimp tomy tank (although I don't think I have nearly that many shor shrimp any more) I had tons of pods just the day before and the shrimp have been the only change.

I have watched my Peppermint Shrimp pull pods out of live rock and eat them more than a few times. If you really want a shrimp and lots of pods then add a refugium where the pods will be safe.
