Cleaner shrimp eating Clam

How do I stop my cleaner shrimp from eating my clam's mantle? I think something might have made a tiny mark on the clam's mantle, and since then the cleaner shrimps are literally sitting on the clam 24/7 working hard on that sopt - eating away at the mantle.

I have too many cleaner shrimp to remove from my tank, and the clam is attached solidly to my live rock.

Any ideas?

This is why I don't keep shrimps at all, (most) of the shrimp I've owned except my coral banded, one time or another like to manicure my clams until it's so stressed that the clam eventually dies (ERRR! shrimp police!) I wish they didn't do that because I wan't them. Now that said, If you hand feed or spot feed the shrimp they might stop, or maybe he just likes sushi?

They were fine for the past 6 months, only a couple of weeks ago did it start... And they get enough food (I think) when I feed the fish...

Weird....

A hawk fish might take care of your shrimp problem.
