I had a cleaner shrimp for some time now and ever since I put the RBTA in there it hasn't been more than a inch from it. Has anyone else ever experiance this?

Mine will sometimes hang out within inches of my GBTA. Sometimes they get stupid and try to walk over the anemone like it's a coral. This doesn't usually end well for the shrimp. I've also seen a large clown "feed" her anemone the shrimp.

all of my shrimp (peppermints and blood) are the very first to introduce themselves to any addition to my tank....they are scavengers and always looking for a free meal ;)

I'm sure that this will not be a "host/hostee" relationship but I'm sure there will be frequent "visits" in their future together...

I had two cleaner shrimp in my 60 cube, one tried to walk over my old huge RBTA.... needless to say, I only was able to transfer one cleaner shrimp to my 150. The RBTA won that round.

The shrimp knows where to get food.Mine would go and take food from the anemone.

I had this problem with peppermint shrimps robbing everything. No longer have any of them.

I had this happen shortly after putting a coral banded in the tank. After it was in ther for a week I came home to it stuck in the nem. Needless to say he didn't make it either. :hmm5:

So unlike coral, an anemone will kill a cleaner shrimp?

I wanted to get an anemone, but I really like my cleaner shrimp despite his shortcomings of being a bulldozer. :)

Most shrimp will avoid crawling over an anemone. And of the few who do, not all perish from it. It also matters what kind of anemone. Step into a carpet and it's probably over. Walk onto a BTA, and the shrimp probably has a fighting chance so long as he can get out before the anemone closes up.
