Cleaner Shrimp Killed by Anemone???

I got a cleaner shrimp Saturday. After acclamation he was a little nervous and was hiding in the live rock. By Sunday he had settled on a piece of rock that has a Pink Tip Haitian Anemone. He was there all of Sunday and Monday, I was getting nervous by how close it was and I even moved him twice and he went right back. I figured he knew what he was doing. He was laying on the sand next to the rock with the Nem dead. He was completely intact so the crabs or a fish did not attack him. He was my only cleaner but I have several peppermint shrimp and they are all doing good. I have a healthy tank. Is it likely that the nem got him?

I have add peps that have killed new shrimp in the tank at night an frame another creature.:eek1:. Last time they killed my coral banded shrimp and left it near my snails an they ate it. How do I know I video tape the tank at night ocasionally for pests and stuff. Or you simply just saw the molt and hes hiding in the rocks.

Hey Plateboy...Your peppermint shrimp killed your coral banded shrimp?! Am I just naive? I thought peppermint shrimp were docile shrimp, and the coral banded was aggressive? Just wondering, as I have 3 peppermints (no other shrimp in my 55gal) and several hermit crabs...I've had the shrimp for a few weeks now, and am finding dead hermits out of their shells...could my peppermints be the culprits? I hope not, as I really like them...hand fed one some krill yesterday :)

They could be the culprits or other hermits are looking for larger shells.
They are most of the time docie put sometimes notr so much but I am not talking about camel shrimp which look closly the same.
