I had a cleaner shrimp for about 4 months. It was doing fine until one day until the insides of it's tail turned pure white. It wasn't see through anymore. Then two days later it died. I just found it'sentire body on the sand. No, it didn't shed. Has anybody had this happen to their cleaners before?

I also lost my anemone crab (white w/purple spots) about 4 days earlier. It was also just laying on the sand too. This I had for about 8 months.

Any ideas on why it turned white?

Living shrimp have clear or translucent flesh. As they die it turns white. That's normal. As to why it died I haven't a clue.

I still have a Coral Banded Shrimp and he's still doing fine.

Salt = 1.0235
pH = 8.0
Ca = 400
Alk = 8
PO4 = 0
NO3 = 0.5

Maybe it was just their time.
