Any compatibility issues here? I had a Falco once with peppermint shrimp, didn't see any problems. The Falco jumped out awhile back. Now I have 2 cleaner shrimp, and a friend is giving away his Falco, breaking down his tank.
I don't think it's an issue as long as the shrimp is bigger than the fish. I have a flamehawk and he leaves my cleaner alone, however the cleaner is quite larger than the hawk.
Hawks are known shrimp eaters. Not a good idea. A segment from liveaquaria.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places is acceptable for this hardy and aggressive fish. It should not be kept with larger more aggressive hawkfish. Although it eats small fish and shrimp, with caution, it can make an excellent reef inhabitant.
Don't trust a hawkfish with shrimp!!! I had a Falco with a huge cleaner shrimp for 3 molts....The 4th molt he got the shrimp. I even forund the shedding & I think he got him when he was most vunerable.....Falco is now in the sump & I have 2 cleaners & 4 peppermint shrimp that are doing great!!!
