Cleaner Wrasse- Diet

What is the proper food for a cleaner wrasse. I target feed him nthings like: brine, mysis, cyclopeze, sea veggies,and marine quizine. He eats but is terribly thin.

This is a very difficult fish to keep in captivity. The sucess rate is very low. Many fish suppliers wont sell them for that reason.

That said, I've had mine for about 5 years. He eats fine and cleans the other fish regularly.

So just hang in there and hope for the best.
 
I have had 3 cleaner wrasses in my tank for about a month and a half now. They won't eat any flake but they will eat the frozen meat and even pick at the veggie clip. I made sure when I got them that they would eat at the LFS.
 
In the wild, 3/4's of their diet is gnathid isopods with the other 1/4 fish scales and mucus (things that come off with the parasitic isopods). They generally don't do well in captivity. I would offer it mysis, Cyclop-Eeze, Pacifica plankton, and bloodworms and hope for the best.
 
If it is eating well, but still losing weight, you might want to try adding some garlic extract to its food as a deworming agent.
