Not sure what exactly your asking about? Micro fauna in my mind is virtually everything minus fish and coral. The cleaners from Africa will usually except frozen or some sort of prepared food as opposed to the others not at all and only feeding off fish
I'm not sure exactly what micro fauna is! I thought it was Copepods, amiphpodes, plankton etc. but I was told they will eat all of that in a few months and then die shortly after? This is why they don't live long in aquariums?
Is really everything gone or may just one have taken over and wiped out the others. I had something like that: first I had a Mysis explosion that killed off my so far flourishing tigger pod population and then amphipods took over and wiped out the Mysis. Every tank goes through such phases and it can take years until a stable condition is reached (of course only if you don't introduce something new).
A cleaner wrasse is not well suited to hunt down copepods and the like that live in rock cavities or the gravel. A sixline (or several if you keep them in a harems group) on the other hand can wipe out the copepod population of a too small tank in no time.
