cleaners?????

Hello My tank is 8 days old now and looking good (IN my eyes) I was told then since I used live rock and live sand I might be able to put in some cleaners after two weeks as Long as readings are 0 .

As i have already been mislead by the local store salesman I have taken alot of advice here and shoped online and read alot I oredered the bermuda skimmer on line and two powerheads Koralgia .
But I see alot of store offer a cleaner package? A bunch of stuff all in one. First question is it ok to order live fish on line are they ariving ok?

and second I see alot of them with 10 blue hermit crabs, 5 crabs ,starfish ?

Is there a certain amount I will need? I would rather hear the advice on here then the salesman.

The readings go up and down for about 4-6 weeks. Just because it shows 0 now doesn't mean that your tank has recycled. Your tank is too new to show a reading.

The cleaner crew need a established tank to graze around in otherwise they starve to death. I would wait another 2-3 weeks before adding.

Don't add the cleaning crew as a package. I say this becuase hermit crabs can be added earlier than snails can. Starfish don't do well with changes in the environment. As your tank matures in next 3 months your reading will change before it stabalizes. I would wait another week or two then start by adding crabs first.

start looking at your local fish stores for a deal on hermit and others. When on sale, you can find hermit crabs for $1 or 15 for $10.

Just buy one hermit and one snail from your lfs and see how it does in your tank. If it does well then buy a package.

i agree with fahadahmed wait at least another 2 weeks dont try and put anything in there yet.

Sounds good Now the hermit crabs are the blue ones ,

I will wait I know i was told I could do it after 2 weeks ,But I assume the opinions vary like everything else.
