Cleaning 6000

Roger,

I just got my 6000 :D  :D :D :) :)

It is a little wet (due to the tests I guess) and it is covered with a sticky substance. I imagine they must be some type of oils. Should I rinse the stream before placing it in the tank or is this residue OK?

It is glycerin and it is harmless- all pumps come packed with glycerin to prevent sticking and corrosion in transport and storage.

Yes. Just be sure it is not possible for small fish or snails to enter at night. Stomatids have broken a couple propellers that I am aware of when the pumps were off at night and then restarted.

Roger,

Placed the stream last night. I placed it infront of the flow box. The screws fit in nicely between the spces of the teeth of the flow box.

The only problem I now have is a huge hole where their used to be a SB in my tank :( . Any suggestions?

Try a different position or place some reef rubble material in the space where the sand is disturbed.
